We are thrilled to announce that Razorpay is now available as a first-class gateway in PaymentHooks. This integration brings native support for India's most popular payment methods, including UPI, netbanking across 50 banks, and popular wallets like Paytm, PhonePe, and Amazon Pay. For merchants expanding into the Indian market, this removes a significant integration hurdle and enables access to over 800 million digital payment users.
The Razorpay integration follows the same unified API pattern as all PaymentHooks gateways. You create a payment intent with the desired payment method type, and the platform handles the rest, including redirect flows for netbanking, QR code generation for UPI, and OTP-based authentication for wallets. Settlement is reported in INR with automatic conversion to your base currency in the dashboard, and all Razorpay transactions appear alongside your Stripe, PayPal, and other gateway transactions in a single unified view.
For merchants already using our Smart Routing engine, Razorpay is automatically included in the routing decision matrix for INR-denominated transactions. The system evaluates whether routing through Razorpay or an international gateway yields better authorization rates based on the specific payment method and issuing bank. Early testing with our beta partners showed a 23% improvement in authorization rates for Indian card transactions when Razorpay was included in the routing pool.
To get started, navigate to Settings, then Gateways, and click Add Gateway. Select Razorpay from the list and enter your Razorpay API credentials. The connection test validates your keys and enables the gateway for routing immediately. Full documentation, including webhook configuration and testing guides, is available in our docs at the Razorpay integration page.
